In the last couple of years a number of Stag owners have asked us to fit these ‘new’ cam covers that they have purchased from ebay sellers. When we have inspected these, they appear to have been stove enamelled in a gun metal grey finish.
We, of course do not fit or recommend you fit these cam covers unless the flame traps have been removed and cleaned.
This process has been carried out with the flame traps still in place and as you can see in the photographs, when the flame trap is removed it has also trapped a large amount of shot blasting grit in the congealed oil. When your nice clean engine oil starts to loosen this debris, it will begin its journey of destruction and can cause terminal damage!
